“Palestine: Commemorating Al Naksa” with Radical Voices

Where: The Constitution Bar, Constitution St., Leith  Edinburgh EH6 6RS

Come join the monthly gathering to listen to singers of radical songs and share songs, stories, poems on the theme of Palestine.  Free Entry.  ALl Welcome.  All proceeds go to Palestinian groups supported by San Ghan’ny.  For more information: radicalvoices@gmail.com

Hadeel AGM

Date: Tuesday 25th June

When: 6.30- 9.00 pm

AGM 6.30-7.15 pm followed by refreshments and networking and then a presentation by Helen Hawari and Jan Chalmers “The Palestine History Tapestry” from 7.45 - 8.00 pm and the another presentation on “A Prison Inspector Looks at the Biggest Prison in the World” by The Very Rev. Dr Andrew McLellan, convener of the World Mission Council of the Church of Scotland from 8 pm - 8.45 pm.  All welcome.


SPF West host a lunch with Keryn Banks as speaker

When: 12.00 for 12.30 pm

Advocate --

  1. A new e-petition has been launched “Britain should make amends to the Palestinian people now.  It “calls on the Government to acknowledge publicly that British policy and actions in Palestine from 1917 to 1948 led to catastrophe for the Palestinian people.” Please consider signing it here

  2. Support the “Defend the rights of the child” campaign organised by PSC.  For more information...

  3. Lobby your MP, sign a petition, invest ethically, support the activists in Israel and the boycott of settlement goods...

  4. Become involved in the Palestine Israel Ecumenical Forum’s  World Week for Peace in Palestine Israel. This year’s theme is “Jerusalem, the City of Justice and Peace” - 22 - 28 September.  For more resources for individuals and churches and more information: www.worldweekforpeace.org

  3. Read a new book!  An SPF members says: “A book reviewed in the Observer on Sunday looks very interesting. 'The Wall' by William Sutcliffe. 'It was more brutal than I thought.' He describes himself as a Jewish atheist and he visited and stayed in a settlement as well as in the West Bank proper to get both points of view.”

  4. Read the most recent statement from Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association: “Decisions of the Ofer Military Court Allow for the Continuous Use of Torture against Palestinian Detainees in Interrogation”

Tour to Israel and Palestine -  March 31 - April 14 2014

  1. Led by Joan and Clarence Musgrave in association with Middle East Committee, Church of Scotland, World Mission Council (tel. 0131 225 5722) or e-mail D McMonagle.
