Universal Jurisdiction Don’t let Britain become a safe haven for war criminals Send a letter/email/fax at the Amnesty Action page Veteran MP Claims British Jews are "distancing" Themselves From Israel Sir Gerald Kauffman MP has this week criticised the coalition government’s plans to amend UK law on universal jurisdiction. The  proposed amendment initially came in response to the issuing of an arrest warrant against Tzipi Livni on charges of war crimes. If passed, the change will mean that the UK could be a safe haven for leaders who will no longer need to worry about being held accountable and will ‘make a mockery of the British legal system’. Kauffman went further in stating that British Jewry are now also turning away from Israel and its human rights abuses.
